Fabrics
Highly Breathable Material
Sunbrella fabric is 100% solution-dyed modacrylic fibers that resist fading and cracking from exposure to the sun, chlorine, atmospheric chemicals and moisture. Colour is added during fiber production. The fibers are then spun into yarn resulting in fabrics with permeated colour throughout, creating consistent, lasting colour and strength. The fabric comes with a 5 year limited warranty.
Sunbrella fabrics have a water-repellent finish applied during manufacturing. With the proper awning pitch and fabrication, water beads and runs off the fabric. Being a woven construction, Sunbrella fabrics are highly breathable and if water penetrates the finish some misting may occur.
Ultraviolet Stabilizers
Cooley-Brite, Cooley-Brite II and Cooley-Brite Lite are eradicable backlit flexible substrates generally for use in commercial applications. The 20 ounce membrane features a scrim design that is nearly invisible to allow for maximum light diffusion, consistent translucency and brilliant eradicable colours in backlit signs and awnings. Comes with an eight-year warranty, and is treated with anti-wick, ultraviolet stabilizers, fungicides and whiteners for excellent colour protection, durability and long life.
Cooley-Brite II offers a 10 year warranty with the added protection of Coolthane topcoat formulation, for enhanced cleanability and extends the life of the product. Cooley-Brite Lite offers the same technology, but in a lighter-weight for unique flexibility for ease of installation.
Flame Retardant Additives
With Sunbrella Firesist and Firesist Plus, flame retardant additives are incorporated into the solution-dyed formula prior to fiber formation, making fire protection an inherent part of the fabric.
The process creates fabric that will not drip melt if exposed to flames and will self-extinguish when the flame is removed. Since fire protection is an inherent attribute of the fabric, it will not leach or wash out during the life of the fabric.
Sunbrella Firesist and Firesist Plus meet most interior and exterior fire code regulations
